Renowned Master Chef Hal Yamashita to Inspire Aspiring Chefs at IHM Delhi
New Delhi, March 1, 2024: Get ready for a taste of Japan! Master Chef Hal Yamashita, the world’s only master chef of Japanese cuisine, is set to embark on a month-long journey to India, starting with a five-day workshop at IHM Delhi from February 26th to March 1st.
Promoting Washoku and Upskilling Indian Chefs:
This workshop, backed by the Japanese government, aims to:
- Promote “Washoku,” the renowned Japanese cuisine recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, in India.
- Equip aspiring chefs at IHM Delhi with the skills and knowledge to elevate their Japanese culinary expertise.
Mastering the Art of Japanese Cuisine:
Under the guidance of Master Chef Yamashita and Sensei Aika Sakagami, participants will:
- Deep dive into the intricacies of Japanese culinary techniques, including ingredient selection and flavor profiles.
- Learn authentic Japanese dining etiquette and presentation methods.
A Culinary Culmination:
- On the final day, participants will showcase their acquired skills by preparing a selection of Japanese dishes for a panel of judges.
- This culinary competition fosters cultural exchange and mastery while offering valuable feedback from the experts.
- All participants will receive certificates from Chef Yamashita upon completing the workshop.
