रूस के खिलाफ युक्रेन युद्ध में भारतीय नागरिक की मौत: धोखाधड़ी और बहकावे की एक दुखद दास्तान
एक दुखद घटना में, हैदराबाद से मोहम्मद असफान नामक एक भारतीय नागरिक की रिपोर्टेडली रूस के खिलाफ युक्रेन के खिलाफ युद्ध में शामिल होने पर धोखाधड़ी के बाद मौत हो गई है। भारतीय दूतावास ने असफान की मौत की पुष्टि की है, लेकिन उनकी मौत के कारण या उनके देश में क्या काम कर रहे थे, इसका रहस्य बना हुआ है।
दूतावास के आधिकारिक बयान में यह लिखा है, “हमने श्री मोहम्मद असफान के एक भारतीय नागरिक की दुखद मौत के बारे में सुना है। हम परिवार और रूसी अधिकारियों के संपर्क में हैं। मिशन प्रयासशील होगा कि उनकी शव भारत भेजा जा सके।”
इससे पहले फरवरी महीने में एक मुद्दे को उजागर करने में असदुद्दीन ओवैसी, अखिल भारतीय मजलिस-ए-इत्तेहाद-उल-मुस्लिमीन (एआईएमआईएम) के नेता में से एक थे। उन्होंने 21 फरवरी को एस जयशंकर को एक पत्र लिखकर उत्तर प्रदेश, गुजरात, कर्नाटक, जम्मू-कश्मीर और उत्तर प्रदेश जैसे राज्यों के लोगों को इस प्रकार के धोखाधड़ी का शिकार होने के बारे में सूचित किया था, जिन्हें इस तरह की धोखाधड़ी में पड़ाने और युद्ध में हिस्सा लेने के लिए मजबूर किया गया था।
29 फरवरी को विदेश मंत्रालय ने यह कहा था कि कम से कम 20 भारतीय जो रूस में फंसे हुए थे, उन्होंने भारतीय अधिकारियों से संपर्क किया था और सरकार उन्हें वापस लाने के लिए अपनी सर्वोत्तम कोशिश कर रही थी।
कहा जाता है कि इन लोगों में से कई लोग दुबई में एक एजेंट फैसल खान द्वारा धोखाधड़ी में फंसाए गए थे, जो ‘बाबा व्लॉग्स’ नामक एक यूट्यूब चैनल का संचालन करता है। इस चैनल के 3 लाख सब्सक्राइबर्स हैं और इसमें एक वीडियो में खान ने सात पासपोर्ट दिखाए और कहा था, “हम रूसी सेना के साथ काम कर रहे हैं और सात लोगों को देश के लिए काम परमिट मिला है।”
एक युवक के पिताजी ने पिछले महीने कहा था कि उनके बेटे और उसके तीन दोस्त दुबई में काम करते थे और उन्होंने खान से संपर्क किया था। एजेंट ने उन्हें रूस में सुरक्षा गार्ड के रूप में उच्च वेतन वाले नौकरियों का वादा किया था और उनसे प्रत्येक व्यक्ति से 3 लाख रुपये लिए थे। उन्हें पिछले वर्ष दिसंबर में रूस ले जाया गया था, और फिर उन्हें रूसी भाषा में कुछ दस्तावेज़ पर हस्ताक्षर करने में धोखा देकर युद्ध में धकेल दिया गया था।
कहा जाता है कि इन भारतीय युवकों को, जिन्हें कुछ ने बुनियादी हथियारों की प्रशिक्षण भी प्राप्त किया है, खारकीव, डोनेट्स्क और मारियुपॉल जैसे यूक्रेनी शहरों के आसपास तैनात किया गया था। एक कश्मीरी युवक ने भी टांग पर गोली लगने की चोट खाई थी। खातों में इन्हें रूसी सेना का हिस्सा बनाए जा रहा है या वागनर ग्रुप जैसे लाभकारी संगठन के रूप में युद्ध कर रहे हैं, इस पर विचारधारा विभिन्न है।
Indian National Killed in Russia’s War Against Ukraine: A Tragic Tale of Deception and Manipulation
In a distressing turn of events, an Indian citizen, Mohammed Asfan from Hyderabad, was reportedly killed after being deceived into joining Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Indian Embassy in Russia confirmed Asfan’s death but refrained from disclosing the cause or the circumstances surrounding his involvement in the conflict.
The Embassy’s official statement on Twitter read, “We have learnt about the tragic death of an Indian national Shri Mohammed Asfan. We are in touch with the family and Russian authorities. Mission will make efforts to send his mortal remains to India.” The post also tagged the official handle of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
This revelation follows concerns raised by political figures like Asaduddin Owaisi, leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM). Owaisi had drawn attention to the issue on February 21, emphasizing that individuals from states like Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh had fallen victim to scams that led them to participate in the war. He had communicated the matter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
The Ministry of External Affairs acknowledged the distressing situation on February 29, stating that at least 20 Indians stranded in Russia had reached out to Indian authorities, and the government was actively working to repatriate them.
Reports suggest that many of these individuals were lured by a Dubai-based agent named Faisal Khan, who operates a YouTube channel called ‘Baba Vlogs.’ Khan, boasting over 3 lakh subscribers, had claimed in a video to be collaborating with the Russian army, showcasing passports and asserting that seven individuals had received work permits for the country.
Relatives of the victims revealed that promises of high-paying jobs as security guards in Russia were made by Khan, who had collected ₹3 lakh from each individual. Trapped in Russia since December, these men were allegedly coerced into the war after being deceived into signing unfamiliar documents in Russian.
The Indian men, reportedly given basic weapons training, found themselves in and around Ukrainian cities like Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Mariupol. Conflicting accounts raise questions about whether they are fighting as part of the Russian Army or the mercenary organization, Wagner Group.
The tragic episode highlights the need for vigilance and stringent measures to prevent vulnerable individuals from falling prey to such deceptive schemes, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens caught in conflict zones.
